Even though you'll be riding at night ... it's July, so yes, it will be hot! Don't underestimate the humidity. We have been lucky and storms before we ride tend to cool things down.Be sure to bring lots of water and drinks for yourself, your family or crew. Broxton has a great ice machine at reasonable prices by their office trailer.
All loops will go out at 6:00 PM or later, so you'll be riding in the evening and night. Intro riders may choose to do a 10, 12.5, or 15 mile loop. Typically you ride one loop in the daylight and the others after dark. GREAT LED LIGHTS by Becky Pearman!
Ride camp opens at 10 AM on Thursday. Early arrival camping is available but put a note in the comments area of registration so we may confirm we are expecting you.
When you arrive, you'll note that the campground is basically one big circle. Hookups are within the circle, and primitive parking is not permitted in this area. Electric hookups are available for an additional fee, the front row has water/electric and some of the back row has water/electric/sewer. Primitive parking is outside of the circle across the road or in the big field behind the covered corrals. If you have reserved a hookup, please park in your assigned spot within the circle. If you park where you shouldn't, you may have to move.
Anyone that leaves trash, manure, or excessive amounts of hay will pay a $75 cleanup surcharge. Blue tubs are at each campsite and in the primitive camping area for manure and hay. Remember, we are not the only ones that enjoy this wonderful venue!
Plenty of hookups available for a daily fee, we have never run out! We have sets of panels available for a nightly fee. There are numerous spigots for horse water for the crew area and water tanks in the primitive areas. Great showers and bathrooms are included with camping. The pavilion is the base for ride meetings, lunch & awards.
All vet checks in camp.
Dogs are welcome but MUST be on a leash at all times. Dogs that bark non-stop when you're gone should be left at home or bring them a dogsitter please! You must pick up after your dog.
Each horse owner, trainer, and/or rider is responsible for safe camping and restraint of their horse(s). We have sets of panels available for a nightly fee but we may run out so order early.
Blue tubs are provided for manure and old hay. Please fill the bins and set them in a location by your campsite so they can be picked up with a tractor. There is a trash bin on the left side of the road near the trees. Do not leave manure or hay in your camp area as others that are not horse enthusiasts enjoy this venue.
If you incur any vet or farrier (if available) services, you are expected to pay directly and on the spot. We are still working on getting a farrier for the event but the trails are barefoot friendly.
We have an equine massage therapist available in advance of or during the ride. Contact Tracy Foley at 484-353-9691 to set up appointments in advance -- with the website of www.equusmaximusllc.com
All riders must wear a helmet when mounted. No exceptions.
If you want your ride card, you must pick it up at awards. You are also welcome to take a picture with your phone at ride completion. You may pick up any Top Ten awards you earned before the awards meeting if you need to leave or you may have a friend pick up your awards. We will not send any awards to you, nor do we want to bring them to you at another ride!
Lunch is included for each rider for the day of your ride. Extra lunches may be reserved on the registration form. If extra mealss are available onsite, be prepared to pay $20. Breakfast and dinners (plus wonderful sweet treats) are available from Comfort Lane Cafe for a fee. Carol accepts cash, venmo, checks all with a smile.
